About Fletcher Lake Lodge
The history & background of our fly-in fishing lodge in Canada
Fletcher Lake Lodge was established in the mid 1960's in central Ontario. We purchased Fletcher Lake Lodge from the previous owners in 1982. After a successful first year, tradgedy struck unexpectantly as the entire resort was destroyed by a forest fire, along with several acres of surrounding timber. By the next fishing season, however, the resort was rebuilt and again welcomed fishermen. Soon, the forest recovered and a new growth of native trees thrived and populated the lakeside again.
In 1995, the resort implemented a new conservation fishing practice. This implementation was to promote a healthy fishery, which inturn created better and healthier fish populations. Five years later, the Trophy Waters program was introduced. Fletcher Lake Lodge immediately became a member and assisted Trophy Waters with its inception, development and growth. Today, the programs success and future is recognized on the many Canadian lakes in the area that support great fishing habitat.
By 2002, many renovations started at the resort. Several out-buildings and guest cabins were transformed into modern facilities, now having electricty and running water and plumbing. Also in 2002, Fletcher Lake Lodge started a commercial float plane service and still operates it today. We have continued for over twenty-five years to provide a first class operation and extend our welcome to you.
